Zuckermann Spinet Harpsichord

Did a little more work on this tonight.  I'm trying to get it all cleaned up so that I can determine what all needs done.  I can see at this point that the major issue is that the string tension has pulled the entire tuning board over to the right.  I am thinking up ways to correct it.

The Jacks removed.

Here's where the problem is.  in fact, the previous owner removed the two main bolts on the left side.  I see now that one actually sheered off.

Both sides are leaning to the right.  Maybe soaking the left and right pieces and then blocking them at perfect right angles would do the trick?

Removed the keyboard.  It needs a general cleaning and some felt replacement.

Just checking out some of the other pieces...

Zuckermann Spinet Harpsichord

So I've got a new project.  A friend was cleaning his house to make room for a new baby.  He thought of me when he came across this harpsichord in his basement.  His wife got it at an auction as basically a "basket case" quite a while ago.  My friend had thought he would restore it bet never had the time.  He seems to think it was a kit from some time in the 60's.  I tend to agree after doing some research.  It appears to be a Zuckermann Spinet Harpsichord.  They don't seem to be all that desirable in terms of quality but it should be fun fixing up none the less.

The pics...

Here are some pictures of what it should look like when it's all fixed up...
