Studio Monitor Rebuild
Several weeks ago, I purchased some new woofers for my studio monitors. The ones that were in the monitors were old Bose 6.5" woofers. Honestly, I never liked the way they sounded.
My brother had purchased a speaker kit that he had been talking about for quite a while. He would update me on the process of choosing and building the speakers. I didn't feel that I could spring for the kit so I thought I could try to improve the ones I already had. I got to doing a little research and decided that I would Purchase the same woofers that were in my brothers kit.
Although they improved the sound dramatically, I'm still not satisfied with e the sound quality. Here's what they looked like:
Old Woofers:
New Woofers:
So, After doing more research, I decided that I would build some new enclosures that match the recommended volume for the new woofers. The following is a picture story of the build so far...

Gluing up:
Let them set over night:

Old Grinding Wheel
I picked this up a couple of weeks ago from Craigslist. It's an old 12"x2" grinding wheel. I can imagine it sitting on a farm at some time in its past. The stand was angle iron held together with bolts. As a result, it was a little lopsided. I went ahead and ground down all the joints and welded them. In the process, I attempted to straighten it out. I cleaned all the parts and put it back together. One last remaining thing to do is to mount the motor and put a switch on it.
